Be Aware - Child Predators are Active
It's summer and your children are out playing or running or biking around the neighborhood. That makes summer the prime time for the people who prey on children. So it makes sense for parents and children to be aware of and prepared for this risk.
A report was made regarding a close call in Windsor Estates in Friendswood on June 22nd at 8:00PM. That might seem far away, but it is only about 14 miles/30 minutes from our neighborhood. The children reported that a female front passenger in a van rolled down the van window, and attempted to lure the children to get into the van. The children immediately ran to their home and reported the incident toparents. The children were able to provide the following description of the van and occupants.
The van was a newer model, dark navy van with dark tinted window. It was reported to have a white bumper sticker with blue lettering on the back bumper. The last two digits on the license plate are 6 and 1. The children were unable to provide a make or model of van.
The driver of the van is described as a white male with straight, short to medium length brown hair, fair complexion with no facial hair. He was approximately 20 to 30 years of age. He was wearing black-framed sunglasses with red emblems, a dark green short-sleeved t-shirt and a wrist watch.
The passenger was a white female with straight, shoulder length brown hair and a fair complexion. She was approximately 20 to 30 years of age. She was wearing a long-sleeved red shirt, a thick necklace over the neck of the shirt and blue jeans.
Friendswood officers and local area agencies were alerted to the suspicious incident. Another Windsor Estates resident reported seeing a van, similar in description, during the same time frame.
Citizens are urged to contact the police department if they have any information about this or any other suspicious incident. Suspicious activity should be reported immediately to police, with as many details about vehicles and persons involved.
Family Fun Night was a great success!
Captain DJ Armando rocked the house on Saturday, June 20, while 65 to 75 kids devoured pizzas and drinks and played in the pool all night long! One of the families was having a going away party and made enough cake and cup cakes for everyone at Family Fun Night. Photos from this event will be posted as soon as they are available.
Photos from the 'Leave the Kids at Home' Pool Party
Judging from the relatively light turnout, far too many Middlebrook residents missed the adult pool party this past weekend. Please try to make it next time. The weather was perfect and there was lots of fajitas, rice, beans, chips, salsa and assorted beverages accompanied by wonderful Carribean-style music from Steel Vibrations. A photo album link is posted on the Events page.
